The cause of the fire is uncertain but officials with the company said that sometimes chemical reactions can occur inside of the garbage that can lead to fires. Waste Management says the quick-thinking from the driver and quick response from firefighters kept people safe and prevented damage. Viewers have sent WLWT videos that show a fully engulfed Rumpke truck on the Grand Blvd. This particular truck was powered by compressed natural gas. Just after 9 o’clock, firefighters arrived to find the cab of the truck completely engulfed in flames. Officials with Waste Management are still inspecting the truck, but it appears not to have any damage.
